Compex still waiting to be activated

I am a representative of a body corporate of about 30 units and my initial experience with Fibrehoods/Vumatel was awesome. They were the only provider that was on time for every meeting and would answer emails within an hour. They were also very open to discussions as to the best approach to get the complex installed.

Unfortunately this experience was short lived and has been replaced with frustration and confusion.

Some of the issues I will mention:

1) I was told back in June that our neighbourhood was already live and that we would be up and running in no time. Well, 3 months later we still are not live so this was a blatant lie to get the sale. 2) There are too many separate contractors involved. Neither of them seem to speak to each other and none of them know what happens next. An example of this was when I caught one of the teams trenching right next to the previous teams trench. They had not been communicated to and also did not take the initiative to check for themselves. 3) Fibrehoods and the ISP’s contradicted themselves as to who would do the in-house install. 4) No one answers emails anymore and escalations to senior management – while having a great response, have not brought any resolution. 5) Competing fibre providers in the neighbourhood had warned me that this would happen. I scoffed at them as they were not “big names”. Well, their complexes are live and running for over 4 weeks now.

I regret not having gone with the competing providers from the beginning. Luckily they can get us up and running soon if Vumatel don’t resolve this ASAP.
