Beware: There is nothing Vuma about Vumatel

I have been a customer of Vumatel since 2015. Two weeks ago my line, and the rest of my street in Parkhurst, stopped working. They have mumbled something incoherent about 'subcontractors' and 'maintenance' and the line being cut by builders. A few days after the line was cut, before i lodged a complaint, some of their workers pitched up, unannounced, at 9pm. They spent around 40 minuted testing the fiber and said that my line was fine and that once they had sorted out the 'main' problem I would be up and running again. That, as I say, was two weeks ago. I have since lodged 3 'enquires' with the 'vuma hero'. In total it took around 40 mins, which of course I had to pay for. So far I have had absolutely no feedback or information about when I would be connected again. They have sent out some mass emails about 'maintenance'. The only difference I can see is that the cover of my connection box has been removed and the connection exposed to the elements. Some of the connections on my street have been fixed, others like me are left unconnected, with no information about what the problem is and when it will be fixed. In short I have found Vumatel to be just as useless and unresponsive as any of the other companies offering an internet service.
