Gerald Bothma
Gerald Bothma did the installation of our Solar System and we not only waited a long time for the installation after we had paid in full, he installed smaller panels and a different brand than quoted. In addition, the batteries he installed, were half the capacity (and a much cheaper product) than what we had paid for. We have since had the system checked by an expert who has found MANY irregularities.. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PERSON.

Do not do business with Unified Power Solutions
I strongly advise anyone to not do business with Unified Power Solutions or its owner, Gerald Bothma, under any circumstances. My experience has been extremely negative, unpleasant, and financially damaging. I paid a deposit in January 2025 for a solar supply and installation project. By July 2025, nothing had happened — no installation, no materials delivered, and no meaningful progress, despite repeated follow-ups. After months of being misled and given false promises, I was left with no choice but to involve a lawyer and initiate legal action. Only once legal pressure was app**** were the materials eventually delivered. Even now, the matter is still not resolved, as Gerald Bothma still owes me a balance. He continues to promise that payment will be made, but these promises are never honoured. From the very beginning, I was repeatedly **** to and strung along. This entire ordeal has been extremely unpleasant, time-consuming, and completely unacceptable for a solar supply and installation company that relies on customer trust. Based on my experience, I would strongly warn others against paying any money upfront or entering into any agreement with Unified Power Solutions.

Please stay away from this business and do not trust a word Gerald says. He is quick to do quotes and "knows and has installed" all systems. But when problems arises he blames the settings of the system. Once payment has been made to him it is struggling for months to get him to come and do the work. He uses the money you pay him to do other work. He answer his telephone and have everyday a different excuse why he can't come to start and complete the work. If there is a problem he blames the settings and do not make an effort to sort the problem out.

Poor/nonexistent service by Unified power solutions
Please stay away from Unified Power. They undertake to register your solar system with your municipality. They ask you upfront payment. It took me more than 7 months to get the job done. In the end I had to fill in documents myself at Drakenstein municipality electrical department to finalise things. It took numerous calls, e-mails and threats to get him to do something. Gerald has no integrity, neither a professional business.
