SACAP is a phenomenal place if you genuinely want to learn and grow
I studied for four years at SACAP Johannesburg (***), and I have to say that SACAP is an exceptional college, and it helped me to grow in a multitude of ways. From the classroom, to the leadership space, and even in my personal and social life, SACAP provided a genuinely incredible platform for me to grow and develop as an individual. The opportunities to learn were plentiful, both inside and outside the classroom, and I am still using the many skills I learnt during my studies at SACAP to this day. The people at SACAP, from the educators, to the staff, and even my peers all helped me to grow into a more outgoing, professional, and motivated person. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to study at SACAP, and I will take the lessons I have learnt there with me for life.

A supportive experience throughout my Master's journey.
My experience completing my Master of Social Science in Community Mental Health Promotion at SACAP has been a really positive one. There were definitely times when navigating the online systems, processes and requirements felt confusing, but what stood out to me was that I never felt like I had to figure everything out completely on my own. The facilitators and programme coordinators were always willing to assist when I needed guidance or clarification. Their availability and willingness to help made a big difference. This was especially important during my thesis journey. A Master's dissertation can feel overwhelming, but SACAP provided me with an incredible supervisor who was extremely knowledgeable, supportive and always willing to guide me through the process. Having someone who could make what sometimes felt complicated much more manageable was invaluable. What I appreciated most was that, even when things were confusing, I never felt lost or unsupported. There was always someone I could reach out to, and I genuinely felt that the people involved in the programme wanted to see me succeed. Overall, completing my Master's at SACAP was a challenging but rewarding journey, and I am grateful for the support, guidance and knowledge I gained along the way. I would definitely recommend SACAP to anyone considering postgraduate study in this field.

Completing my Diploma at SACAP was one of the most rewarding experiences of my academic journey. I loved how much I learnt, not only academically, but also through practical work and real-life experiences. SACAP taught me the importance of accountability, responsibility, and applying knowledge beyond the classroom. It wasn’t just about gaining information; it was about learning how to show up, take responsibility for my work, and understand the importance of practical experience. The hands-on learning helped me appreciate that counselling is not just about what you know, but also about how you apply that knowledge, how you treat people, and the responsibility that comes with supporting others. I’m grateful for the foundation my diploma gave me and for how it shaped my growth, both personally and professionally. 🤍

A Life Changing Experience
My experience at SACAP has been incredibly meaningful, and I can honestly say that choosing to study there was one of the best decisions I made. What stood out for me most was the support and service. From the lecturers to the broader support team, I consistently felt that there were people who genuinely cared about my journey. The lecturers were incredible, approachable and supportive, and they played such an important role in helping me grow both academically and personally. My WIL experience was, without a doubt, the most amazing and life-changing experience of my life. Being able to take what I had learned in the classroom and apply it in a real-world setting changed the way I see people, communities and myself. It made the journey feel real and purposeful. There was one disappointment along the way. I was declined for Honours registration, and to be honest, I still don't fully understand why. After everything I had invested in my studies and the journey I had taken, this was difficult to process. I would have appreciated greater clarity around the decision. Despite that, my overall experience at SACAP has been overwhelmingly positive. I am grateful for the knowledge, the people I met, the support I received and, most importantly, the personal growth that came with the journey. Would I recommend SACAP? Absolutely. 100%. If you are considering studying psychology and want an institution where you can be supported, challenged and given opportunities to experience psychology beyond the classroom, I would definitely recommend SACAP.

It was the most chal...
It was the most challenging experience of my grown life - but it shaped me in ways i only now realise, it forced me to embrace flexibility, but also made me love the structure - and the importance of a to do list & schedule

A big jump but it was worth it
For me studying at SACAP was a big jump and a challenge I needed to take. I came back to formal studies after 21 years since my junior degree. The first 3 months was a nightmare, having to juggle around my other roles and learning new ways to study. However, the support system at the college is amazing, student support and all lecturers wants everyone to win. I eventually got a hang of it because of the support at all fronts and pushed until the finishing line. I will recommend SACAP to anyone who wants to challenge themselves out of comfort zone. SACAP is a great institution and has created a conducive environment for learning for all ages, and cultures.

SACAP Alumni Review
I truly enjoyed my experience at SACAP Johannesburg Campus as it broadened my perspective on how to build relationships and helped me to improve on my social skills. I particularly appreciate how accommodating the lecturers were to individual needs, specifically Portia, Erika and JP. I was also drawn to the office-like nature of the building because it felt unique for a college campus and gave me some sort of structure. I liked how I could be myself on campus and not feel judged or ridiculed by the staff or students. My experience at SACAP has taught me valuable skills such as lesson planning, time management, communication, organisation and leadership. I miss SACAP, I miss the library and meeting rooms and wish to return, even as a staff member 😊
