You can never cancel

I cancelled our line and DSL connection on 15 January 2016. I have paid the 30 day notice period and expected the line to be cancelled. We followed all the instructions, from the form that had to be filled out and sent, to the identity document. Yet more than four months later we still have an active account with Telkom. They even had the debt collectors phone us to demand we pay our outstanding fees on the account. We have tried to have it cancelled by contacting ten (10!!!) different individuals at Telkom. All they say is that we have to pay the outstanding amount before they can cancel it. This is rediculous as we are not paying for march - may when we notified Telkom in January and already paid for February as well.

i wonder how much money Telkom makes just in interest by delaying cancellations. And to add the cherry, you are not allowed to contact the cancellations department directly. This is a phantom department of Telkom and although you receive numerous automated replies from their e-mail address, you never, never and I mean NEVER hear from them again. Terrible outdated service. Telkom is not a sinking ship, it is the fish poo at the bottom of the ocean.
