Yellow Pages -Telkom *****

My receptionist was contacted about 2 months ago to update our details. The call was apparently from Telkom, but was to do with our supposedly existing Yellow Pages listing. My receptionist confirmed our details and the surgery phone number. At no stage was any contract mentioned, or even the cost of such a contract! I have since noticed in our September and October bill, that there is an additional amount of R349-00 per month being charged. I queried it with Telkom and they said its from the Yellow Pages, and I must contact them. We have since emailed them and phoned them without any feedback. THIS IS *****. WE NEVER NEEDED, REQUESTED OR AGREED TO ANY CONTRACT WITH THE YELLOW PAGES! I am a General Practitioner, and I would NEVER take out a contract with the Yellow Pages for my business, as I don't see any benefit of such a listing. I also find it unacceptable that Telkom will just add this fee onto my account without my permission. Surely there should be authorization from the account holder, and his/her identity should also be verified. The worst part is that it is a contract which states the period as being 32 of 24 months! So I'm expected to make 32 payments for something I never authorized, needed or wanted. THIS IS A **** Looking at the other numerous complaints against this company, it seems to be their modus operandi. I will take legal action if they do not refund the amounts already charged (and which are paid automatically via debit order with the rest of my Telkom account). They also need to cancel this contract without any cost to me.
