Worst service provider in SA

To whom this may concern,

I am writing to complain about the absolutely ridiculous service or lack thereof I have received in the last 2 months from telkom.

On the 8th of December 2016 we called in to have our 4mb adsl line upgraded to a 10mb line. We were told it takes 48h to have the upgrade done. When the technician came out, we were told there was an issue with the cables and the issue had been sent to the cables department. From there we were told it takes 7 working days for the issue to be fixed. So we waited. I called again in the 16th and was told that the technicians can take up to 21 working days to fix an issue. I explained multiple times on multiples calls that we would be moving out of the premises on the 1st of Feb 2017 and that we would need the line to upgraded in time for us to request the moving of the line on time.

Needless to say we called in the first week of January again only to be told that all of the cable technicians were on leave at the time and would only be back the following week.

I called the following week again and at this point my request had been escalated twice already as we had been waiting for a month. I was once again **** to and told that they would get someone to come out and upgrade the line as soon as possible. I spoke to a team leader by the name of Zandile who assured me she had updated the notes correctly and requested an earlier date than the 10th of February for the upgrading of the line with the backoffice administration department.

I had at this point been promised a phone call from a supervisor more that once. But as telkom has no integrity and no one sticks to their word and of course because not one person is truly interested in Trying to assist you I had never received a call back from any of the ones the hat promised they would. I also had one agent who wasn't interested in helping so she transferred me to the technical department to get rid of me. The other hung up.

So finally I managed the end of January beginning of February to speak to a supervisor who after ALMOST 2 MONTHS was the only supervisor who managed to pick up that the order which had been placed by the consultant in December was in fact for a complete new line installation and not an upgrade. It took 10 phone calls for someone to pick this problem up. So i at this point am convinced that majority of the staff at telkom is completely *********** and just down right lazy. I reiterate, that I had mentioned on various calls that I would be moving properties no one cared. DENZiL Naidoo who I thought was trying to help me was another one of those assistant supervisors who had a lot to say but up to date has not bothered to deliver. Promised call backs.. promised returns of emails.. I have always had to call telkom because staff at telkom call centre obviously only get hired to lie to telkom customers. So good old denzil told me to cancel the upgrade as it was incorrectly ordered anyway and to in the mean time request for the line to be moved. I had been promised that he would arrange an earlier date which he also didn't do. I was then told to call him when I get confirmation from the technicians that they would be coming. How I should do this at the new premises without a telkom line installed I am not sure. Nevertheless I emailed to which Denzil Naidoo never bothered to respond.

So this morning call nr 15 or so I think I call to find out what is happening and I get told, there is a problem at the exchange so you will have to wait another 5 working days then maybe the technician will contact you with the final date for actual instillation . DID I MENTION THAT DENZIL INSISTED THAT HE WAS HELPING ME? THE FIRST TIME HE PROMISED TO CALL ME, I CALLED TELKOM AGAIN ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME HIS TEAM LEFT FOR THE DAY. BEFORE THE TIME OF THE ARRANGED CALL BACK. SO I CAN ONLY ASSUME HE HAD NO INTENTION OF CALLING ME ANYWAY.

I have been paying ahead of schedule for my telkom usage and am currently being billed for the non existent Internet floating in the air as telkom is not interested in keeping their customers.. I have begged and pleaded and sworn and cried just for someone to deal with this issue but no one ever bothers.

I am now 2 months later still a paying customer at telkom without even having a running line because the service provider is unable to actually provide a service after multiple complaints and a handfull for escalations which don't seem to serve a purpose because every time I call in they tell me no one has responded to the escalation. DOES ANY DEPARTMENT FUNCTION EFFICIENTLY AT TELKOM!?!?!?!

Then when wanting to cancel with immediate effect I am told that it can take 30 days and I would still be required to pay for the non existence services. I mean talk about an entity wanting to ***** you good and proper.

So I do not have a telkom landline nor adsl . I am still paying and no one gives a damn. I also assume that in good south African fashion I will not get a response to my complaint. No one will try to expidite my order. And no one will even bother to apologise or feel bad.

Telkom has no integrity, no sense of customer satisfaction, no interest in providing good service.

So very disappointed.

Mishqa

And while you are able to get back to me via your lovely Internet connection I am still sitting without adsl. Your apologies do not make a difference. It does not even in the slightest appease the situation. So I politely decline your apology.
