Worst service provider. Ever.

So I am a foreigner. I moved to Cape Town from a place in Europe where fibre internet is fast, cheap and customer feedback is super-quick. I was told that the best company in RSA was Telkom. If only I knew at that time that I was being fooled. I had to choose ADSL. After suffering with unbelievably low speeds (on a 20 Mbps soft cap account I had roughly half of that speed when connected with a lan cable to router) and the best part of it was from 18:00 to 23:00 - the speed was SO low better say that there was no internet at all. On top of that I had never recieved a tax invoice on my email, the company kept me guessing if I payed or not. I tried calling the hot line, but I do not have a spare 30 minutes in my life to wait for a operator to pick up the phone. Even after waiting for 30 minutes, sometimes the email with the invoice was not sent. So I decided to wait until somebody calls me instead and tells me I am in errands. That did work - a very adequate person from Telkom's billing dept. helped me sort out the balance at that time. And then it started all over again. low speeds, no customer support, hotline is not a hot line but rather a freeze-to-death-and-hang-up line. So, as any person in an uncomfortable situation, I desided to find a way out - find a better provider, which I did. For a cheaper price (!) got a uncapped (!) 100Mbps (!) fibre line, with a super-quick responce team. And I app**** for cancellation of service with Telkom. Where I am from we do it in an office with a live person. After standing a line in a Telkom office in CBD they told me to call the HOTline as they cannot do it personally. Once again, where I am from, there is no 30 day period of cancellation - you want out today - tomorrow the money is already returned to you. THAT IS PROFESSIONALISM. Having wasted a lot of time, I managed to obtain a form to fill in and an email where to sent it upon completion. I did that in November and I have proof that it was done exactly in Nov'16. Since then I have called, written emails, feedbacks on website - no reply what so ever. Today I got a call saying that I ove ~6000 zar for using internet that I stopped using in Nov'16... That can also be proved by checking out if anything was downloaded/uploaded via the router since Nov'16. So i decided to go to mybroadband.co.za and noticed that there are lots of people that have the same problem.

To sum up I can say that Telkom is interested only in obtaining clients and not dealing with their problems.
