Worst service I've ever received
I was phoned by a company called Mondial representing Telkom. They offered me a contract (free me unlimited R599). I decided to take the contract but there was issues with delivering my sim card and when I did eventually receive the sim card (2 to 3 months later) there was another problem activating the sim card. Their policy states that if one decides to cancel a contract within the 7 days cooling period there will not be any charges. I cancelled this contract on its 5th day after the sim card delivery and decided to go straight to a telkom store myself. I had a hard time with cancelling this with Mondial because they took me from Pillar to post but eventually they confirmed that it was cancelled. A few months later into the contract I went to the telkom store for I saw extra deductions on my bank account. When I phone telkom to ask why they told me its because there is another contract under my name meaning Mondial never cancelled the contract. I asked telkom to remove this contract and give me a refund because I had already cancelled this contract a few months earlier within the 7 day cooling period - this was July 1st. A call center agent told me this process takes 48 hours to be resolved. I followed up again and they told me my case was sent to the incorrect department and it would take 72 hours to resolve. I followed up AGAIN a few days later and was told that my case is sitting with the back officve who haven't responded to it yet and it will NOW take 21 working days to be resolved. It is now the 16th of August and one call center agent informed me that I need to return the phone they gave me with the contract (this was a sim card only contract). All the while telkom is deducting money out of my account for a contract that I know I have cancelled. I decided to reverse the amounts they were charging me because this is money I do not have - I only paid for the contract that I went to the telkom store to take out. telkom then decided to suspend my account on the 15th of August and the very next day I got an sms informing me that telkom has made a deduction off my bank account (after having suspended my services). I phoned them to tell them about this and to open my line since they have taken money (for the same contract that I cancelled within the 7 days cooling period) and they informed me that it will take 2 to 3 working days to reinstate my services - my bank account did not take 2 to 3 days to be deducted but my service will so I decided to do another reversal again. I am livid, this is the worst service I have ever received from a service provider. It just goes to show that when something is too good to be true, it ACTUALLY is. This contract was cheap and affordable - I haven't needed to buy extra airtime ever since I got this contract and it has worked out to be very cheap but unfortunately the service as well is atrocious. I am currently seeking legal advice on how to proceed with this. The reason why I reversed these amounts to to show telkom that they dont have control over my bank account but I do. I will only pay for the contract I signed up for and not the one they are forcing me into. One more thing, I was told by a call center agent that the reason why it was taking long to cancel this contract was because Mondial was not responding to their request to which I asked, if mondail never responds does that mean you will keep on deducting my account forever and ever to which I was told "YES". This basically means telkom is just going to sit back and wait for mondial and if they choose not to respond then "tough on me", I will just have to live with it. Thanks for nothing telkom, I should have never joined your network. SIES!
