Worst service

Worst service ever. I lost my phone and Because I was using Telkom since 2019 even though I am a Vodacom employee Telkom was still my primary line. I got to the Shop at South gate mall and the lady at the door asked me what phone I wanted and I said I don't know cause I was not planning on getting a new phone. She said to me that the phones starts from R5000. I then told her I want a Samsung and she angrily turned around and fetched a brochure to check for phones. We then decided to take the A13 and was given a number to wait in the queue. Moments later a guy comes to me and ask me if I am going to pay cash or swipe. I said swipe, he says there speed point is not working and I had to join a very long queue to draw R4000 to pay for the phone!!!

I was so upset, because this is not the first time that I have been disappointed by Telkom, the first time I bought my phone, the guy at trade route try to trick me in buying a more expensive phone of which I did not like, he ended up saying to me... that it will take 20 minutes for the drop safe to open. While whispering to his colleagues. I ended up just walking out of the store. I eventually bought the phone in South gate. Never the less, I then went to the ATM and while standing in the queue I realized that Vodacom is just there around the corner and I can just ask. To my surprise I was received with open arms, a warm and friendly smile greeted me and the phone was R300 less. So I took it.

I still needed to do a Sim swap, got back with the Vodacom pack in my hand and the treatment was now twice as bad. I was given an number and I waited and waited maybe for 30 min and number that has exceeded mine was called but not mine. Worst service ever really. Then I thought okay there is a Telkom store in main and Sauer street and I work around the corner so I'll go there after work on Monday. To my sorrows.... even Worst, the guy at the counter while helping another customer greeted and asked me what do I want. I told him a Sim swap. He said we need ID and proof of residence. I still wanted to explain that I lost my ID however I have affidavit. He stopped me just there and say No mam, we need your ID.

With such disappointment I left the store.
