I sent in my cancellation on April 2018. After I had followed up and lodged complaints numerous times , the the cancellation was finally processed on 15 June 2018. Since the cancellation was dragged out so much I was worried that I am going to be billed in the time I waited for this to be completed. The lady that assisted me said the account will be corrected and I will receive my full deposit back. On July 17 2018 I queried why I haven't received my refund yet. They responded on 27 July 2018 requesting documents for the refund, I asked to confirm that I will be receiving my full deposit and the lady said no, they have to deduct the outstanding balance first. I explained to her that the balance was supposed to be adjusted as it is not my fault Telkom wasted time completing the cancellation. She logged a dispute on my behalf to get the balance fixed. On 7 August 2018 I received a message stating that my dispute has been closed. I had not heard anything from Telkom and they just closed my dispute. I logged an new query with them asking why my Dispute was closed, as I had no updates from them about this. How can they close a Dispute without discussing it with the customer? On 10 August 2018 I receive a reply:

Thank you for the e-mail sent to Telkom Billing enquiries. It got closed because the rental dispute was not resolved. The dispute has been logged for the account number ********** 44.The reference id number is ********** 7. The dispute section will contact you regarding the outcome of the query on your account.

So it got closed because it was not resolved? How does that make sense?

It has been 4 months since I sent in my cancellation and this is still not resolved.
