Dear Yazied,
Post your response I got a call from a lady at Telkom from Cape Town on Wednesday. She wanted to know if my service was working. I told her that that was laughable. She, and Telkom, provides the service. Surely she would've checked with her technical team before contacting me. She says that her system tells her the network (or something like that) was working since around four on Saturday afternoon. So I told her I really didn't have the inclination to call Telkom just to find out if the service was restored. I assured her I would try the WIFI when I got home. I duly did and once again what a waste of my precious time and airtime. I cannot call 10210 from my landline, weird but typical. I had to use my Vodacom cellphone to get a hold of Telkom which I've been doing for the past few weeks.
Yesterday I got the bill from Telkom and got less than 50% discount on my rental for a service which I haven't had for the month and which doesn't consider that I had to substitute with unbudgetted cellphone costs. This morning I paid my bill like the good girl I am. Barely an hour later I got a call from another of Telkom's finest who went down the same track as his colleague from Wednesday. Unfortunately, I did not have the patience to entertain him because he also neglected to check with his colleagues about whether my service was restored.
I'm sure by now you must be asking when I would like to cancel your service? Well I'm sure it won't come as a surprise when I say now! Please could you be so kind as to assist me in cancelling the service with your esteemed Company. How can this be facilitated quickly?
