Wifi down at least once a month
I have uncapped DSL with Telkom and it goes down at a rate of at least once a month. I've been fighting with Telkom to provide a service that will actually work continuously and not break down every time but have had no joy thus far. My complaints fall on deaf ears and the supervisor I spoke to yesterday actually told me that if I'm I've been having such endless problems with Telkom why don't I either (1) try another service provider or (2) complain to an obudsman. I've tried (1) only to find out that I still need to deal with Telkom as a Telkom landline is a requirement and the service provider would have to contact Telkom anyway when problems cropped up. I tried (2) and received no feedback. I've changed my modem, I've changed my lounge around on the advice of a Telkom technician who said the problem was with my wiring in my house (it wasn't) as it went down yet again a few weeks after we did this. That time they said the wire in the pole outside my house was too short - not feedback as to why it was too short or whether they would then out the correct cable in the pole. So i was then advised to collect an integrated simcard from the Telkom branch as I could use that until a technician would come out. They aren't able to let me know when a technician will be dispatched as Telkom does not have a turn around time when presented with a fault. I went to the store in CBD only to find out that they in fact don't have any in stock. So now I've had to email ********** which I have done but I can see that my email has still not been read or in fact opened. I have to wait for this person to tell me when they will receive a simcard which I can then collect to use while my wifi is down - meanwhile still no word on a technician coming out even though the fault was lodged last week Thursday already. At this point I'm not even sure if Telkom knows the meaning of the word 'service'. This is what the Oxford dictionary lists it as: Assistance or advice given to customers during and after the sale of goods. ‘they aim to provide better quality of service’ . This does not describe Telkom.
