Why pay deposit to activate International Roaming?

Hi I recently joined Telkom Mobile because of their competitive packages and impressive network speeds in and around Gauteng. I left my previous provider after 10 years of service and I am starting to regret my decision.

When you want to travel abroad with any other provider in SA you simply call or sms to have your international roaming activated. I travel extensively and need to activate my International roaming. I called the call center and was asked to go to a store, the store then needed to call someone to figure out the process to activate my international roaming. I filled in the paperwork and was told it would take up to 6 days which I accepted. Today the call was followed up by an email asking me to deposit R2000.00 into an account in order to activate my International roaming.

I do not accept this and will not pay the deposit, I have a contract and they can bill me on a monthly basis as per the norm.

If not please allow me to get out of my contract as you cannot service my needs.

Regards
