WHY DOES TELKOM CHARGE CUSTOMERS FOR NON-EXISTENT LINES?
Telkom knows they’ve a problem with their DP (Distribution Point) Boards in Complexes (particularly old Apartment Blocks).
Telkom Technician’s know too that when they arrive to “repair” a line - they simply look for a functioning line (i.e. not ones that have crumbled in the DP Board). They know this will cause another resident to lose their line. Then the resident who lost their line - reports their dead line and the vicious Telkom cycle continues because the next Technician will find someone’s functioning line and so on and so on…..
To cut a very long story short - Telkom removed my line about 12 years ago but continued to charge me for it. So after numerous “not free” calls from mobile phones, emails and online complaints - I decided to stop paying for a line that just didn’t exist anymore.
And now I’m harassed by Telkom’s Debt Collectors.
Bottomline: Telkom owes me a lot of money. How do I get a refund?
