Why do I have to wait 48 hours te re-enable accoun

I don't quite understand this... Telkom wasn't sending me my bill, so I had no idea what my outstanding balance was, until they suspended my services (which I guess is fair enough) - I then phoned them and asked them why my ADSL isn't working and they said that my account has been suspended due to non payment. I then asked them to send me my account so that I can settle it which I have now done. But here comes the part I find utterly unacceptable. Why - after I have settled my account in full - do I have to wait 48 hours to re-activate my account? I am paying for those days, so I expect the activation to be immediate. I even phoned in to let them know that I paid and sent in Proof of payment - and they were unwilling to help. Will I be refunded for the two days that you refuse to give me the service I pay for? And also, its as simple as pushing a button and its all working again, why do they have to complicate it so? I either want my account activated immediately or I want to be refunded for the two days you did not provide me with the service I am paying for.
