When will Telkom start providing acceptable back up service?
Having twice had incoming international calls on my Telkom landline showing questionable ID phone numbers as well as very scratchy audio I asked Telkom to send a technician to my home to thoroughly check our fibre connection to ensure that there was no illicit equipment either attached to it or that could be intercepting our incoming calls. On both occasions that this was reported they did exactly nothing and within 24 hours of contacting them about the issue they sent me an sms telling me the fault reference had been closed. So this is Telkom's idea of service? Really? No wonder that clients are leaving them in droves and seeking other means of communicating with higher standards both in terms of product and most importantly back up service. I too shall terminate my current comms package with them when it expires and that will be the last time Telkom sees my money. I've had enough of paying for this level of ******* service. In the meantime, an independent communications security specialist is coming to check out my Telkom line to ensure it is clean and that no one is tapping it etc. If it turns out not to be the case Telkom will be hearing from me; but in a very different arena.
