Well done!........I think not!

I have recently taken out a Telkom cellphone contract at the Telkom Gateway branch. The contract offer included a free USB. After signing all the necessary documents, the concultant then had some system issue about releasing the USB, only for his manager (I assume) to realise that they no longer had stock of the USB, which he conveyed to me and added that it was a "while stocks last" offer. Firstly, nowhere was it advertised that it was only while stocks last, and secondly how do you advertise something to a customer and then only give them half the product?! Anyway, probably seeing the shocked look on my face, the manager then says to me he will be getting stock next week and the consultant will take down my details and contact me when stock is availabe for me to collect. When we were done signing documents, I ask the consultant for some documentation to say that I am entitled to the USB so that I dont have any issues when collecting and he says to me: "oh no, that was a while stocks last offer"! Seriously!? Did you not just hear the conversation that was had right next you? So I say, but your manager just said I can come in and collect one when you have stock, to which he responded, "oh did he, ok give me your contact details and I will put it on the system". So I did, and already being very annoyed, I left.

Two weeks following this no-one contacted me. I tried contacting the store, the number diverts to the head office in Pretoria with no other way to contact the specific branch, big surprise! So I eventually decided to go to the store, I enquired whether they have stock and was told that they do. So why was I not contacted to collect one?!?! Anywho, I was also told that I had to follow the queue (ridiculous, since I was a returning customer). And finally, after and hour and a half in that queue I did get the USB.

I thought I just put this out there, so maybe the service in that store would improve and others don't have the very frustrating experience I did.
