We have a 50meg fibre line with Telkom and have app**** for this line December 2019 and have been paying for this 50meg fibre line since January 2020. But all through this time when my husband (Gary) checked noticed that we only get a speed of 6% to 7%. Gary would then log a call, in turn they send me a sms advising that they working on the problem and then shortly thereafter that it has been resolved. To our frustration this happened a lot. Needless to say the time and calls made on our account wasted. Our last encounter was that Gary attended at Telkom N1 City to explain our problem, from home we WhatsApp the speed we were on at that moment to him, Gary showed it to the guy working at Telkom and he replies but you are getting 50meg even though he see 7%. I then went Online and cancelled my contract with Telkom on 28 July. The Online application did not allow me to cancel with immediate effect and I chose 31 July 2020 as a date to enable me to move forward with the application. In the comment box, which did not leave a lot of space, I stated that we are unhappy with Telkom's service and that Telkom is in breach of their contractual obligations towards us, as for 7 months now we are paying R1155 for a 50mg line and not even getting a half the speed. I also had to accept the terms and conditions else the Online application would not move forward. We have explained to them on numerous occasions that we are 3 people working from home and are experiencing endless problems. They always sound helpful and interested on the phone but still the is no change to the speed of the fibre. Just as a note, all of this also happening in a time when our entire family tested positive for Covid-19 and we loss my dad to this dreadful virus. There has been no talks about compensation from Telkom's side but I don't dare not paying my account on time. All I wanted is for them to do their job and give me what I pay for. I have received an email back stating that I must lodge a fresh complaint. I emphatically refused as this would mean that the history of the old complaint, ([Support #***] re: Account No: *** - Fault ***6 on Internet TIN ***), will disappear and it will start as a fresh complaint which it is clearly not. Please help us put a end to this madness.
