Waiting for the cancellation of ADSL line for nearly 3 months! The agreemnt was 21 Working days!!

I requested Telkom to cancel my ADSL line and data on 29 August 2017 as I want to change service providers. I have contacted them numerous times and everytime I have to email the documents to the agent to escalate. It was supposed to take 21 working days. The service provider that I want to move to is much cheaper. In the meantime I am stuck with footing the more expensive Telkom bill every month. That is schoking service to say the least! I get the feeling that Telkom just does not care as we are reliant on them for a line. You cannot walk into a service centre to sort out problems like with DSTV. You are at the mercy of whoever is in charge of cancellations. I was with Axxess before, but as I moved house, I had to install a new line. Can someone please advise on what additional steps can be taken? Do I have to go the legal route?

Hello Launa. Thanks for the reply. I have not received any feedback yet. Who do I phone to use the above reference number. I have lost all faith in Telkom. I followed up again today and was sent from pillar to post. I eventually reached the correct number for transferring my line into the service pool. They gave me an email address to which I just had to "write an email" to request my line to be placed in the pool. The address was the same as the one I sent my request to on 28 August! It was not only "write an email" either, it was exactly the process of sending the cancellation document with ID. The automated email stated exactly the same as the one on 29 August, that my line will be transferred within 21 working days. Just to give you an idea. Billing says only sales can do it, sales says only billing can do it and so it goes. I know about a few people that are experiencing the same issue. I think that some have actually just given up. I really think that one should consider a class action against Telkom as many are continuing to pay for a more expensive service while they could have been paying for less inexpensive service! It could amount to millions if not billions!
