WAITING FOR LINE TO BE MOVED

Why was my date to have my line moved to my new residence from my old address?? I was told because it’s in the same exchange, it will be quick?? I arranged this early December already because I was moving end of December. The date was scheduled on the 2nd January and now moved to the 8th January?? Am I now expected to pay for 8 days of service that I cannot use?? Now I must take off work to be home??
