Very Bad Service

During the last week of March Telkom was replacing the cables in our complex. When these cables were connected on 31.03.17 I came home from work to no telephone or ADSL line. This was reported immediately as I now had a security risk at my premises as my alarm, if triggered, would not be able to go through to my armed response company. They sent a private contractor out on 01.04.17 who restored my line and my adsl, but the adsl was only running at 2.1 Mbps and I had a 10Mbps line. This did not improve and I re-logged a complaint on the 08.04.17, A technical eam came out on the 10.04.17 and said that the cables were not connected properly by the team who had one the installation and worked oon the lines during the course of that day. At the end of the day there was no improvement, but they daid they would be back the next day. I reported that the problem had not been resolved that same evening to Telkom. The next day (11.04.17) a different team arrived worked on the lines, and were about to leave for the day when my father checked and realised tha tthe telephone and ADSL was not working. He told them before they left and they did a "quickfix" and said they would be back the next day (12.04.17) to fix it properly. They did not show up that day and when I called Telkom that evening they appologised and said that the complaint was still active and they would have a technician out the next day (13.04.17) to sort it out. This also did not happen and when I called later that afternoon I was told that the technician had closed the complaint as resolved. The Customer Service opened another complaint (3rd one) and said they would have a technician in the area come through and sort it out as the test that they ran on the line showed high static and poor receiption. Later that eveing I received an sms stating that that complaint had been closed as marked as resolved. Upon which I immediately called Telkom and stated that there had been no technician at my premises and that the issue had not been resolved and my line was now running at between 0.9Mbps and 1.2Mbps. They added a comment to that fault reference number and would get the technician to call me urgently. As of today 14.04.17 I have still not had a phone call nor has there been anybody to sort out my ADSL. I have now been inconvenienced for two weeks I can't work from home as the line is too slow and I can't skype contact my daughter who is based in Australia on a bi-weekly basis like I usually do, all because Telkom Technicians are incompitent in their job. Up until the day they connected the new lines I had no complaints I had a telephone line that worked and an ADSL which wsa running at a consitancy of between 7-8Mbps as is normal for a 10Mbps line. I will definately not recommend Telkom do anybody who asks me about them and unless this issue is resloved soon I will take my business elsewhere.

Another day gone by 15.04, and still no phone call. Called 10120 again and the system says there are no faults pending on my line. So I get given another reference number for the more senior technicians to handle who don't work on a weekend only Monday-Friday and with Monday being a public holiday nothing will now happen till Tuesday. Which means anoter three days before my problem caused by Telkom in the first place will be looked at again. The service I have received so far in getting this issue resolved is disgusting to say the least.

On the 20th April I got a response from Telkom to say that my problem had been handed over to the cable technicians and had been escalated with a reference number, I have asked three times since then for an update with no repsonse. The technician was here on Wednesday the 26th tested my ADSL and acknowledged that there was an issue and would be back the next day to investigate further and address my problem. I have not seen them since that date. I called 10210 on Tuesday and spoke to a Thlani who confirmed that my fault log was still active on the system and would send a technician the next day and call me with an update. It is now 48hrs later and still no call or technician and problem still not resolved back to a 10Mb line. To top it all I get my account I have not been creditted for 01-11 April for a service I did not get and I have been invoiced for full service from 12 April to 11 May.

The customer service from Telkom is shocking to say the least. If I could score zero or less I would, it has been almost six weeks since they caused the problem with no indication as when it will be resolved, yet I am invoiced for a service I am not getting and also incur costs with all the phone calls made from my cellphone.
