Useless service by call center and technical dept.
On the 2nd of Dec 2017 my Telkom line stopped working. I Have an 8mb/s line with them including a telephone line. Both stopped working after there was a storm in my area. I called the on the 3rd of Dec to log a fault. On the 4th a technician came out to my house without confirming with me, hence only the domestic worker was present to assist him. The technician didn't fix the line, nor did he report back to Telkom on the fault. I assumed he would be working on it for a couple of days therefor I didn't call Telkom again. On the 7th of Dec I called them and asked about the fault and the lady from the call center told me that the fault was marked as resolved and that she would open a new fault. By the 11th of Dec I called them again, just to be told that there are no faults logged. I hung up the phone and called again, hoping to speak to a different call center agent. The second one I spoke to assured me that a fault has already been opened ant that the matter would be resolved within a week. On the 28th of Dec I called again and the lady told me that the fault was being sorted out but she couldn't escalate the matter or give me the details of the technical department working on the problem. It has already been 27 days and absolutely nothing has been done about it. That is a whole month that I will have to pay my ISP and Telkom for that I wasn't able to benefit from the service. Telkom has no reference number on their system fot the fault I logged on the 3rd of Dec, but the claim their billing dept. would have it. Something has to be done about South Africa's useless telecommunications company TELKOM.
