I was recently sold a contract telephonically for a Huawei p9 by a Telkom sales member. The phone arrived on the 14th February and my account was debited with R399. I was promised in the telephonic binding contract that my SIM card would be activated within 48 hours of receiving the phone. Many many calls to them, with more empty promises...promised it would be activated immediately...a reference no issued that has somehow magically dissapeared and even an email to a senior supervisor that went ignored and I still don't have an active SIM. It's now going into the eighth day. I have asked for the CEO of telkoms email address and get told they don't know it. I want to approach consumer protection to see how I can go about cancelling this contract and returning the phone as it is utterly useless to me and I want my money back.

Best regards,
Dear Bronwyn. Your reference number of the escalation you have logged is useless to me. Your escalations are useless. That word is useless and it is all I ever get told when phoning your call centre. No feedback is ever given. Nobody has contacted me. The phone is still showing emergency calls only and we now in day nine. I have requested in my email to your supervisor that the telephonic contract be emailed to me in order to cancel it as it is does not exist and I am unable to use the phone. I haven't had a courtesy of a reply to those emails either. I will now be approaching consumer affairs to assist. Perhaps I will get assistance and attention when I instruct my bank to reverse any debit you attempt to make against my account at the end of the month?
