Upgrade takes longer than signing up for a new service

I requested an upgrade of my 20mbps VDSL line to 40Mbps last month (30 june).

My request is still not finilised. I have called atleast 30 times, and no one bothers to try and come up with a solution.

Apparently there is a "jumper" that needs to be connected. This jumped is only referenced by Sales, as technicial tells me that there is no Jumper - my line is perfectly upgradable to 40Mbps. according to Technicial - "sales are not doing their jobs".

To address the jumper issue:

1) A technical supervisor upgraded my speed to 40mbps while I was on the routers status page. I physically watched the speed jump from 20mbps to 40mbps. We did a speedtest, and he verified that my line would be rock solid as I am very close to the exchange. He also debunked the "jumper" issue.

2) 2 unrelated Telkom ground technicians that work at my exchange have told me that they do not "connect jumpers" anymore (old technology issue). The speed upgrades are done by sales.

But - according to sales - there is a "jumper" that is preventing me from getting my speed (regardless of advice given from technical, and the fact that my speed was magically upgraded without this jumper...).

I did manage to get a supervisor called Denzel to help me. He gave me 24hours to investigate, and promised to call by 3pm on thursday. This call never happened. I called back to ask for him - and was then told to wait as he will advise me of the progress. This wait took 1hr (while I had to listen to your holding music).

I was then passed onto a technical sales person (the line was bad, so I cant verify his name). He told me that he would call me by midday on friday. He could not give me a number as he "cannot be contacted".

He never called.

Now what?

Is this how Telkom resolves issues?

Could someone please do their job and sort this out for me?

It would be quicker for me to cancel my service, and sign up for a new DSL service with the 40mbps VDSL speed. Atleast the store confirms with you the exact day the technician will be out (usually done within a week).
