Unreasonable cancellation fee for LTE contract R800!!!

So Telkom in their, infinite wisdom, decided to cancel the R. 50 for 500 GB night surfer data. This was the only reason I took this contract with them. The new offer of R. 59 for 450GB is not available to all people and was not available to me on their app. This forced me to migrate to fibre.

So I am on 22 months of my 24 months LTE 10GB contract. I phone them to cancel contract, they tell me it is going to cost R. 800 for a cancellation fee. I am happy to pay a 30 day notice period e.g. R. 300 and the outstanding amount for the device. I find the R. 800 completely unreasonable for cancellation fee for LTE contract. Reasonable can't be R. 800!!!

I therefore am forced to live out my contract as this works out to be the same cost... Shame on you Telkom!

Before the changes I was actually very happy with the service I received. I really believed they changed, however due to my last experience; I will never, ever take another Telkom deal!!!

If you reading the comment are contemplating taking a deal, beware of their "reasonable" ridiculous cancellation fees.
