Unpaid Debit Query: No Explanation

I have been struggling to get this matter resolved for weeks now. My debit in February bounced and I paid the due amount via eft within a few days, however Telkom still charged me an unpaid debit fee when they debited me in March. As far as I know, on my contract it states that Telkom uses a Naedo debit system which would therefore mean that there would be no reason to be charged an unpaid debit fee. The payment should have been debited immediately when funds were available, however since this did not happen I made an eft payment. Also, if there is an unpaid debit fee, this should be charged by my bank and not by Telkom.

I do not see anywhere on my contract where it states anything regarding unpaid debits. The only clause I see relating to this matter is as follows:

‘’The Subscriber shall be in breach of this Agreement by cancelling the debit order without the prior written consent of Telkom Mobile. Should any debit order or cheque payment be returned unpaid or stopped or should any charge card account or credit card account of the Subscriber be rejected, Telkom Mobile will have the right to suspend the Subscribers account until such arrears amounts have been received and paid in full.’’

There is no mention or reference to any penalties that could be charged due to Unpaid Debits.

I have spoken to several agents from the call centre. After having no success getting any answers I requested to speak to a manager. I then spoke to a manager, Musa Si***ane. He could also not give me an answer. He advised me he would get back to me by latest Friday 31 March before 12pm however I received no communication from anyone. I called the call centre later that afternoon and they advised me that Musa was not available. I then requested the call centre agent to ask Musa to call me back on Saturday as he would be available. He still did not contact me. I then called on Saturday and the call centre agent placed me on hold for approximately 20mins. Musa then answered and didn’t even know what I was phoning for yet he had my information in front of him. Musa continued to place me on hold further, only to then tell me he does not have the information I require. He advised that he would get back to me by Tuesday 4 April by latest 11am.

I still have not gotten any feedback from anyone. This is honestly very unprofessional and I am extremely disappointed.
