******** DEDUCTIONS BY TELKOM AFTER NO SERVICE WAS DELIVERED
During March 2018 I app**** for this account and received the device sometime during March 2018 or April 2018. I used the device for a month and then we moved to a plot outside of Upington on 01/05/2018. Since then I was never able to use the device at my home. I made numerous calls (ALWAYS ON MY OWN COST) and was never called back by technicians. If they did call me, it was during working hours whilst I clearly stated during my numerous queries that my problem is at home, not at work!! Who uses a device like this a work anyways, I am at work to work, not use data for my personal reasons. But anyway, Telkom can check my usage on this account, it was used a few times during June / July and maybe August 2018 (I can give you the exact location also, it was while I worked at a local school in town, not at my home). Never again, did I use this device since I was never able to get any coverage at my home despite the numerous queries I logged and hours I spent on the phone with call centre people from Telkom (always on my own cost).
After my correspondence with Leso Hophney from Telkom I decided to stop the debit order on my account, why should I pay a monthly fee for absolute NO SERVICE!!!
I made payments until October or November 2018 after which I cancelled the debit order. I never received any assistance from Telkom and could not use the device as I had no coverage at my home. I had to incur extra costs to get a new contract from another service provider that actually did want to deliver a service to me. After I cancelled the debit order, Telkom still continued with their monthly deductions. How they did that after I paid R60 to Standard Bank to cancel the debit order, is still not clear to me. According to my knowledge, this should not be possible. My monthly amount was R140.00 which was the debit order I cancelled. I think the last deduction was ± R3500.00!!! How they get to this amount, only they will know. I had to go in to the bank each and every month to reverse the payment and sometimes had to pay a fee since there was not sufficient funds in my account for this outrageous payment to be deducted.
