Good day
Where do I start! I took out a contract with Telkom in June 2018 whereby I'm getting 11 Gigs of data a month. The Data lasted for a whole month from July 2018 until December 2018. Since January 2019, the Data will be used up in the middle of the month, on the 18th of January 2019 the whole 11 GiG of data was used up and bare in mind we were mostly outdoors/holidays and didn't used the WiFi so much on a daily basis compare to previous months. Today is the 13th Of February and the 11 GIG that I got on the 1st of February is used up, ask me how because I have no idea. I have two colleagues at work whose DATA was up by the 10th and 11th of February received on the 1st of February 2019 as well. We all have the same contract and all have been experiencing this madness since last month. I called them in last month and the explanation wasn't helpful at all, so I would like to know what changed regarding my monthly DATA as of last month. The second problem I have with Telkom started recently. I went into the Telkom shop on the 26th of December 2018 informing them that I closed my bank account and that I would like to update my new account. The lady logged a call and in a few minutes someone called me back on my 079 number. I updated my new Capitec account details and the gentlemen informed me that Telkom would not be able to debit from my new account for December, so I need to make a cash payment for that month and from January 2019, they will debit from my new account going forward. I made the cash payment on the same day and based on my invoice I got 9th of January 2019 the payment reflected and the amount due for 31st January reflected at R0 which I knew was incorrect as Telkom still needed to debit the January's installment on the 31st of January 2019. I don't keep record of my debit orders because honestly I only have about 4 going from my account and I make sure to leave enough funds through out the month. The latest invoice from Telkom I received on the 07th of February 2019 was totally different. This invoice stated that Telkom tried to debit from my closed Standard Bank account on the 31st of December 2018, and because they didn't received any funds they penalized me with an amount of R202.70 plus it stated they never debited from my new account in January 2019. To begin with, I notified Telkom that I closed my Standard bank account, I updated my new banking details, I paid the installment in cash for December 2018, I was never told that the system will still try and debit from my closed Standard bank account on the 31st of December even after December installment was alreday updated on they side. Telkom can go back and listen to the call between me and the agent on the 26th of December 2018 to hear for themselves that I was never informed that the debit will still run. Whats funny is that the total amount due reflecting on this new invoice includes December's installment which I paid in cash and which reflected as being updated on the invoice for the 7th of January 2019. So its December's installment, penalty charges for them not getting the installment for December via debit order, from an account that has been closed and that they have been made aware of, plus they never went into my Capitec account end of January so January installment is also included. Up to today, there' still more than enough funds for Telkom to debit the January's installment. What I want from Telkom is to remove the penalty charges, to remove the installment for December as payment was made in cash even before the 31st of December and to only debit the installment for January that is patiently waiting on them, in my updated account that they have on the system in order for this mess to be sorted out ASAP. I called Telkom yesterday and was told that I will not get it right to get this unnecessary charges removed even after I explained the whole story, I called again later and was told that my query was logged and it will take 72 hours to get feedback, honestly I don't have 72 hours, because my ITC credit and name is at stake. Please Telkom, I need explanation regarding why my 11 GIGS of monthly data gets depleted so fast and I need that invoice mess to be sorted out. You welcome to call me on my 079 number that's updated on your database with a solution and answers. Yours Sincerely CS
