Unfami**** account in my name and in arrears - Telkom threatens legal action

I keep on getting various sms about an account in my name and ID (confirmed with a call centre agent) that is in arrears and threatening me with legal action. on the 21 May 2018 I received an sms stating 'Notice of Litigation: Mrs McArthur you indebted to telkom acc ********** 41 with R833.44 and fail to pay, a court order may be obtained and summons issued. Call ********** 668 / Chat at www.nudebtchat.co.za'. Despite me confirming with the woman at this number that this account does not belong to me, and never has, I have had no feedback. I am of the opinion that there is an account that someone has taken out on my name as not only is the account number unfami**** to me but also the amount. I do not want legal action taken against me for something that I am not even guilty of.

Thank you Noeleen. I will get an affidavit from the police station this coming weekend to confirm 1) my past Telkom account and then 2) my present account which I opened when I relocated.
