********* debit order dealings

On 2 July I called Telkom to enquire as to why they had not debited the payment for June. They told me that their debit bounced on 28 June whereas our agreement was on the last day of each month; which was 30 June. I told them that the date we agreed on to debit was the last day of the month and the 28th was not the last day of June. I asked for the banking details and immediately paid the amount due to them. Now they are telling me they will debit an additional R200+ in August for the debit that bounced (WHICH THEY DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF WHEN THEY CHANGED THE DATE). When I called them to enquire about the R200+ difference they said when the last day of the month falls on a weekend they debit on the Friday. By law debits are supposed to go off on the following Monday and not before the agreed-upon date if it falls on weekends. They claimed that there is a clause in the contract I signed and must have been highlighted to me by whoever I signed with at the store but when I ask them for a copy of the contract they told me I must go to the store.

I went to the store (Alberton City Centre) on 21 August and spoke to a lady called Fortune who said the only person who can give me access to my contract was the manager who was not in but will email it to me on 22 August. Until today I am still waiting for it.

I am being ****** here especially because the contract I agreed on with Telkom stipulates that the debit must go off on the last day of the month and if the debit went off before the agree-upon date WITHOUT BEING NOTIFIED then that is their fault

I refuse to pay that money for something that is not my fault
