********* business practices increasing consumer costs

I received a call from the sales lady (Asanda Ntobela) on the 5th May informing me that fibre is available within the area that I reside. I emphasized repeatedly that the option will only be considered if there is no increase in costs. I was on a copper line with a data package of 50GB at a speed of 10Mb/sec and the monthly premium was R699. Asanda assured me that the cost will remain fixed at R699 and as a “sweetener” the speed will increase to 20Mb/sec for two months. Based on the facts communicated, I agreed to move over to fibre – this was a verbal agreement, hence I am hoping that the conversation was recorded to ensure that it is binding.

In August I noticed that the bill was increased to R949 and I queried the increased amount – I was given a dispute number of ********** 5 on the 30th August. I called the customer service number (10210) on several occasions but the issue is still pending – I spoke to a lady from East London (in the dispute department) two weeks ago explaining the situation. From the customer service department, they are not able to divulge contact numbers of the sales person or the dispute department i.e. I need to patiently wait for feedback! In my opinion, the service is unacceptable and the practice is completely *********!
