I will start at the beginning like I have been doing countless times when calling customer service.

I was subject of potential ********** activity and to combat that had I closed my bank account and opened a new one. On the 12 October 2016 I called 081180 to provide them with my new banking details, the consultant captured my banking details and assured me that on 01 November 2016 I will be debited from my new account and not the old one. I have the recording of our exact conversation (yes I too record all calls). Funny enough I was not debited but instead received a SMS saying that I haven't paid bla bla bla and I need to make a manual payment. Furious I called the center again and the consultant said my banking details were not captured and after recapturing it for the second time I was advised to make the manual payment (I have that recording too). Fair enough I made the manual payment of R438 thinking it was a simple mistake from the first consultant.

Boy was I in for a suprise - I received another SMS beginning of December saying Bla Bla Bla and I was required to make another manual payment of R438. Frustrated, I called the call center and the consultant heard my previous encounters and said that I was misinformed; in order for my debit order to be successfully reinstated I need to have made two consecutive manual payments. Listened to her I did just that. A day or two later I received another SMS saying I need to make a payment of R1083 (R438 which I made payment for + R645 for end of December invoice). Baffled I called the call center again (yes now I'm reaching boiling point and fed up) and the consultant said that my payment reflected of R438 and that I should ignore the SMS as my account on her side showed that I am up to date. She confirmed that the R645 is only due end of December beginning of January. Good news now also meant that my debit order would be successfully reinstated because she said my payment reflected and she logged a request with 'back office'.

This is where I became ****ed! Yesterday my bank statement showed that my bank, Standard Bank, charged a failed debit order fee of R115 because Telkom tried to debit my account. This happens when one does not have the necessary funds in their account. I did not know why Telkom is trying to debit my account mid-month so I called the call center again. States my case and was told by the consultant that it could be the R137 debit order rejection fee/failed payment I could be expected to pay because I was late with my last payment. I demanded to speak to someone higher than her and I was greeted by the floor manager who listened to me explain my situation for millionth time and agreed that I was never at fault and I should never been in this situation to begin with. I asked her how will I be reimbursed for the R115 my bank charged me and she couldn't advise me and directed my query to back office/billing. So I got paid this morning yes I'm up at 3am because I get stressed out by people one of them Telkom. My bank statement shows that a debit of R1083.07 went off this morning. That says it all the failed debit had not been because of the R137 but Telkom did an unauthorized debit for R1083.07 which includes the R438 that I successfully paid beginning of December and the R645.07 that's due beginning of January.

I don't want to hear that my case will be dealt with and I'll receive feedback or hear from a consultant. I need you to reimburse immediately because my poor two babies will be without nappies and necessities in the next 24 hours thanks to Telkom. I urge that this be dealt with immediately before I take it further. Telkom needs to reimburse me for R115 Standard Bank charge I obtained because of their mess up. I am phoning my bank first thing when their call center opens to advise me further on that.

My Telkom account number is ********** 63 and my billing account number is ********** 34. See latest Telkom Invoice/Statement attached to this review.

Please make contact via ********** 294 ASAP with feedback. I'm between a rock and a hard place.

Hoosain Cassoo

Best regards,
I am yet to receive the R115 bank charge! its been way over a month now.
To add to it, a company NuDebt SMS me this morning about outsatnding debit order of R1083.07 which is the same amount that started this whole shenanigans.
I made contact with them on ********** and assured them I have no outsanding money with Telkom. She asked fro my cell number ********** and said she will get back to me.
I then phoned Telkom and told them about NuDebt and asked iff my account is paid and up to date. The operator assured that it was and the reason why everything is happeing to me is because Telkom Mobile started this.
I will be requesting a crediting rating report today and should I see something disturbing as a result of your company I’m going to need that it be rectified. Get it reversed or something or provide me with a letter of apology so that when I decide to go buy a new car this year the salesman has no reson to deny me from purchasing a car.
Firstly, I need my R115 returned ASAP. Secondly make sure you resolve the matter with NuDebt.
dont just reply to this post but have the decency to phone me.

I am going to take legal action against Telkom because I am being victimised here.
NuDebt is insisting I have been handed over by Telkom becuase my account is in arrears. According to them I was handed over on the 12th Janaury 2017! This is outrageous because my account is up to date with my latest debit order successfuly going through on 30th December 2016 and amounted to R645.07,
They mentioned the amount that I was handed over for was R1083.07 and to make matters worse they attempted an unauthorised debit order to obtain that money! Why do they have my banking details??? who gave them the authority? I never had funds available in my accouny so the debit order was unsuccessful but my bank charged me another R115 for failed debit order fee.
The situation I'm in currently is that I am not arrears with Telkom, NuDebt wants the R1083.07, Standard Bank has charged me a total of R230 because of Telkoms errors.
I need my money back right now (R230)! How would you like it if your kids can't have a meal because Telkom errors and unathorised debit orders and debt collectors prevent them from doing so. I'm taking legal action, I'm contacting the ombudsman to advise me further because its pathetic that how I a good client of Telkom gets treated like this. I have all calls recorder on my side that I made to Telkom, Standard Bank, NuDebt which serves as proof that I was never at fault yet the blame seems to fall on me!
I want to cancel all my accounts with Telkom so please advise on the prcedure. I will never recommend Telkom to anyone ever again!
