Unauthorized Contract & Unfair Cancellation Fees

I am extremely disappointed with Telkom’s ********* practices. I originally signed a contract, which ended last year. The contract included a router, and at the end of it my monthly fee dropped from R300 to R269.

I made it clear to Telkom that I did not want to renew, upgrade or sign a new contract I was fine with the month to month arrangement. However, when I recently went to cancel I was shocked to be told that I am locked into a contract I never agreed to or signed.

Now, to cancel this so called “contract” I am being charged an R800 cancellation fee plus monthly installments. This is unacceptable! How can I be forced into a contract without my consent and then charged to cancel it?
