Unauthorised Upgrade
A couple of weeks ago, I received a call from a Telkom representative offering me an upgrade my service which I declined as I am happy with what I have right now. I was subsequently contacted by technician Godfrey yesterday who said he was in front of my house to upgrade my service to LTE as all customers in my area are being migrated to this new system due to rife copper cable theft. I accepted his explanation and asked my father to let him into the house to do the necessary as I was not at the premises at that time. Then I received sms's on my phone stating that my entire plan was changed and that I would be charged pro-rata fees on my next bill... I found that strange as I did not authorise any changes to my package at all. When I arrived at home, I also found that a brand new modem was issued to me with a sim card which I did not order. Then I called the number ***which I received via SMS and a very impolite representative, Tshepo, (who acted like she was doing me a favour) stated that an order was placed on my account on the 27th of October to upgrade my plan which is what I DID NOT know of or give permission for. I don't understand why these changes have been made *******ly to my account and services which I did not agree to. I would like the name of the representative along with the call recording to be retrieved where I gave my permission for these changes to be made. I refuse to pay for ANY of this. These malpractices are just unacceptable and downright ******* and I don't understand why my life has been complicated by the deceptive actions of Telkom employees who are chasing conversion stats. I would like this matter to be escalated accordingly and to be resolved immediately. This is incredibly disappointing.
