Unauthorised port of my number again!

On the 01/02/2018 (12:00) I called a Family member to be told my number does not appear instead another the number reflects on their screen.

I then called Telkom and spoke to Nonhlanhla Nkabinde and she advised that my number is not a part of the Telkom network. She placed me on hold for a considerable time and return to advise the number was ported to Telkom and she will log a ticket to the back off to assist. Unfortunately this is a very fami**** situation for me as a few months ago (28 September 2017) I had the very same issue. I am still waiting on the complaint that I logged with Telkom to be address and feedback given and yet before that can happen I am now in the same situation. I am now under the impression this is *****.

I use my number for work and personal use and unauthorised porting have now left me to having personal and confidential information in hands of someone else.

I requested to speak to a Manager Andy Maboshego who advise me he will the complaint, I requested the number and email address for the porting department to which he said, “he cannot provide that to me” I then asked him to the complaint email address or phone to which he said that complaints are dealt by him and Telkom does not have these departments. Really not helpful. Considering it was an unauthorised port I expected Telkom to be more helpful. He advise that I will get feedback in 72 hours. (3 days) he explained that if another network request the port they release the number no security checks done. Telkom then allocates a new number. Why would I RICA a number if it was so easy to be ported without my authorisation and its also so easy flor Telkom to give a new number without RICA

How it is possible that Telkom can just allow/release my number to be ported without consent or any notification to me?

How it is possible that MTN can just allocate me with a number and port over my number to them without my consent?

What measure does Telkom have to prevent ********** ports ?

Why doesn’t Telkom have a ***** department

Telkom has placed so many barriers for me to get my questions answered or speak to the relevant people.

I have spoken to a MTN Porting consultant and was advised that all Networks use the same system and the reversal and be done today. It is just a matter of accepting the number back via sending a message. Does Telkom not hire that right amount of people to be able to deal with customers. Why should I wait 3 days to fix an issue that is clearly cause due to an issue/shortfall in Telkom process.

Why has Telkom not froze my number to prevent this from happening again.

why does Telkom NOT provide customer service

Hi Launa My number has since been returned to me, however my airtime/minutes & data has not, I have called telkom mobile and was advised that because i ported it will not be returned. Telkom service agents clearly have an understanding problem cause i keep repeating myself that I DID NOT PORT. when will my airtime/minutes& data be returned and considering this has happened to me twice what measures will be taken prevent it from happening again? i was promised a call back for the above questions but 2 weeks later and still no call.
