Unacceptable Service Telkom

I cancelled my telephone line on 5 Jan 2015 effective 31 Jan 2015 as I moved to London, UK on 16 Jan 2015. I cancelled this at the Telkom Direct store in Tygervalley, Cape Town and everything was in order. Telkom however still deducted the monthly charge from my bank account (and I have been reversing it). I contacted their Billing department on 31 March 2015 and a lady named Buhle assisted me, saying that she could see that there was a request for it to be cancelled but the line is still active. She can however see that it is not in use (and it won't be as I am in the UK). She was said that I need to send a mail to cancel it AGAIN (which is truly unacceptable). I sent the mail requesting cancellation on 31 March 2015 to which I received no reply but the debit orders stopped so I assumed this case was closed. However, today (27 July 2015) I receive a mail from a debt collector requesting payment of +-R1900 (including their fees) which completely caught me by surprise as this is the first correspondence that i have received.

This is totally unacceptable Telkom. I am going through this due to YOU not cancelling my line properly (and now I have to bear these costs from London).
