Unable to cancel line

I cancelled my line on July 25 2018, paid the last amount owing end of August and have not paid them since. I now get a request from a Lawyer that I have been handed over for debt collection on outstanding Telkom account, the account was never cancelled on my initial request and they kept on billing me.
