Unable to cancel land line
In May 2015 I moved from Gauteng to Mpumalanga and knowing that I had to give 1 months notice I tried to cancel my Telkom landline. I went to both the Menyln branch and filled in the cancellation form, I tried to phone the cancellation department and wrote a letter to Telkom but never had any response from them. Eventually a friend of mine who works at Telkom got it sorted from inside. On 10 May I received a call from TELKOM head office informing me that as of 6 June my phone would be cancelled. However on 1 July I received a bill for June/July on the same line for a full months use of calls etc. When I received this bill I phoned Telkom and I was informed that my account was still active/open. I then put in a dispute about the bill and was told that I would hear from someone in 5-7 working days... It's been 2 weeks and still no news. I refuse to pay for a line that I have tried to get cancelled. I unsure of what to do next. I am also not the only person in my family having difficulty cancelling a line. It seems to be a problem for all.
