Typical State Owned Enterprise level" of service
Noticed there was a fault on Sunday, 17/09/2017 on both ADSL and landline. Opened up a support ticket with my ISP- Afrihost (they deal with Telkom on the client's behalf) on Monday, 18/09/2017. They Afrihost (supposedly) escalated the matter with Telkom. Since then they have been updating the status - but constantly state that there is no ETA w.r.t resolving the problem. It is now 4 days later (22/09/2017) and no one has even visited my residence nor contacted me to ascertain the extent of repairs required. For all I know it could require 15 mins to fix - I am not being unreasonable in asking for someone to at least assesss the cause and not blatantly telling me that "we envisage to have your service restored within the next week"...that is utter BS. It is senseless to have an ADSL and yet have to pay a fortune in 3G/4G data costs. I have been patient thus far, but this is not a free service...I am paying for it and demand the support that ought to be rendered. What bothers me even further is that you see the Openserve vans driving around all day yet for what- there are no results. Are they perhaps working for ADT now and doing neighbourhood surveillance, or maybe Mr. Delivery..delivering orders?
Its very ironic that the invoice received every month states "Payable on or before ***x (date)", yet when service is required they have no ETA. They are only interested in profits and don't give a damn about the level or quality of service that is offered.
Just in case some miracle occurs and this message is read. The fault number is 154BNK190917 (or 89047 according to the Telkom fault checking website).
