Trying to leave (the Hotel California)

I cancelled my Telkom line before I left the country. I started the process in March and after having to resubmit the cancellation request a few times because they weren't responding etc etc I got a phonecall confirming that the service was cancelled with effect on the 24th of April. But then a debit order amount of R229.04 was taken off my account on the 25th of May. I have heard of many customers who have struggled to get Telkom to cancel their lines. I emailed the cancellations email address back to request that the money be refunded and my debit order permission be removed from Telkom. And guess what? The email kept bouncing back saying that the email address did not exist. THIS IS THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS THAT I USED IN MARCH. THEY WERE QUITE HAPPY TO RESPOND TO IT THEN. I really want Telkom out of my life forever. If someone can arrange that refund and cancel my debit orders forever, I will happily write a glowing review of the customer service I received, but at the moment I am just joining the queue of people calling Telkom *********** and thieving. Please help, someone out there.

Thank you. Jessica

Reviewer Update
Thank you Noleen. I have just received an invoice from Telkom saying that they are going to debit my account AGAIN on the 26th of June. Under no circumstances must Telkom ever take another cent of mine, and I expect a refund of the money taken thus far since I cancelled my account. Please confirm that you will ensure this happens. I have not heard anything from the accounts department since you posted this reply 12 days ago. Thank you
