TRY CANCELLING A TELKOM SERVICE - GOOD LUCK!!!

Obtaining a new service from Telkom is quick, efficient & I have personally been ecstatic with their service up to now. HOWEVER, try cancelling a service from Telkom that's when all hell breaks loose. I tried phoning - good luck there to ANYONE who tries.1st time held on for over 30 minutes & once the call was answered I was told to phone back & was cut off. 2nd call, same scenario with waiting for the call to be answered only to be told to call another number & again cut off. Thought I would be clever & on 1st August went into the Telkom branch in Centurion Mall & cancelled my LTE service with a gentleman by the name of Anthony as of 1st September. Come 1st September, lo & behold, Telkom has charged me for the service. I have now spent 2 days trying to call Telkom, logging disputes online & even requesting a call back & do you think Telkom has contacted me at all - NOT. I am a bond originator for the biggest bond originating company in the country & draw numerous credit reports on a daily basis for clients who are seeking bonds to buy a home. Surprise, Telkom is NOTORIUS for often NOT cancelling services or updating the credit bureaus with the result it affects one's credit rating & lowers scoring by making it appear ones cancelled account is seriously in arrears. As a last resort, I have now turned to hellopeter to see if this will entice a response from Telkom (NOT holding my breath) & to get my money back that they have *******ly taken from my banking account via debit order. It has become a sad state of affairs in this beautiful country of ours that one has to turn ugly to try & get service out of certain service providers.
