Transfer Complete = No Service

Further to my transfer now taking place on the 3rd October 2017, I am yet again facing down time with Telkom.

The technician came to connect my line on the 3rd October 2017, after advising me I was 400M from the exchange she advised I was able to upgrade my line to receive speeds on up to 35Mbps

Yet when I called for an upgrade to take place I was advised that I can only go to 10Mbps, I find this difficult to believe as the technician who deals with the lines on a daily basis has more experience than the person looking. Irrespective the technician confirmed the speeds with her technology.

Of course I was advised that due to the transfer the technician needed to confirm the transfer prior to putting in an upgrade order.

Fair enough, I was still happy with the above, further more on Wednesday I was advised that they need to log an issue with IT due to the installation still not being completed on the system.

They advised to call a further 24 hours later, I then gave them 48 hours as I didn't want to call back with the same issue. On Friday the 6th I was advised that this was not done and they had to advise IT once again. However IT had not come back to them with a resolution in the first place so I guess this just stayed an on going issue.

I made the decision to migrate my line to Afrihost as I believe their service and partnership with Open Serve is possibly far more greater than the current service I am receiving.

When I app**** for the migration and I sent the move request to the relevant department Afrihost contacted me and noted that there ceased line, which means there is an on going order, inactive line or something wrong with the line.

I assume this was due to the installation, however I need this matter to be resolved, first seeing that I do not have internet access now as of the 9th October when I got home my internet was offline. My phone line did not work either and I wasn't able to log a fault online.

Afrihost advised me that there is nothing they can do as they cannot even apply for migration and therefore the issue is with Telkom.

I am growing tired of the constant downtime and now I cannot even get the migration completed.

I most definitely will not be paying for this loss of connection at month end, and I expect my line rental at R149.00 only to be billed as I have no further fees to add if my line get transferred.

I am quite fair in the regard of making payment for a service I received, however there has been no service with Telkom.

I look forward to receiving your prompt response in this matter in order to have matters resolved as a matter of urgency, failure to do so might result in the ICASA (Independent Communications Authority Of South Africa) to review the matter going forward.

I look forward to hearing from you.
