Three weeks, no service, no progress
I attempted to log a fault online and with the Telkom app three weeks ago multiple times throughout the week, both of which did not work, despite the online portal saying it did. I was only able to log a fault when I got through to Customer Service a week later. This was two weeks ago exactly.
I am still waiting for my ADSL service fault to be resolved. They tell me there was a loose cable causing a ground loop on my line, which made it noisy and affected the line speed.
I was then told after painstakingly calling into the call centre (which is hit or miss because I often get cut off) they are waiting for a replacement cable. What I can't figure out is why they didn't just reattached the cable properly or simply replace it with their own stock. Don't they have cables on hand? This is Telkom ffs. Their whole business is cabling. But no, they probably have to go through bloated procurement processes through third party suppliers that takes forever.
Another thing that bothers me is that 50% of the time you call the call centre and their system is down. Today I called again and was asked to call back through garbled noise on the line because their phone lines are also faulty now. This is your business, Telkom! COMMUNICATIONS! What a joke.
I would like someone at Telkom to get in touch with me and help resolve this issue because my home internet is critical not only for entertainment but also for my work. Not to mention it is costing me heaps of money from buying mobile data, which is enormously expensive.
