Three strikes and you OUT
So Telkom is now pushing for wireless phones instead of your landline due to the high copper theft. The deal is that Everything REMAINS EXACTLY THE SAME, should have smelt somthing fishy. But eventually agreed to the new technology, surely it would be better for all in the long run. This happened last year, we only received the phone this week, not a good start to the relationship. Set up the phone, " SORRY NO CONNECTION" the message on the screen of our new upgrade. Strike TWO, phone the help line I am now told that the SIM card might be faulty, seriously you send out faulty SIM cards, but to check I must insert the card into my cell phone and then if it's not working then I can be assured that it's the SIM card. Only other way is to take the card and phone to my nearest store and get it checked by one of our professional staff members. At the store its confirmed " FAULTY SIM CARD" new card is provided, annoyed but not too bad, this is going to be great after all this is new technology and all. Strike THREE, wife tries to phone her mom over seas, ya wait for it, " YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CALL THIS NUMBER" wow, wife tells me "you should have heard the tone on the operators voice, scolding me as if she was a little child trying to phone a random number and being naughty". Not quite convinced I tried it myself, s...t took me back 40 years to the time I was being scolded at by Mrs Grief in grade two, HELLO TELKOM what is the use of the phone if I can't use it to phone whoever I choose to. Do you not remeber saying " EVERYTHING WILL REMAIN THE SAME" WHAT IS THE USE OF HAVING YOUR PHONE IF IT IS HAS " CALL BARRING IS ON" the main use of the home phone is to phone overseas and receive calls from overseas. So just let me help you with your advertising, Everthing WILL CHANGE. I now regret to inform you that you are about to loose another client after all these years. Yours truly Tony de oliveira
