Threats are not a sales technique
Telkom phoned to "offer", read force us, to move to their wireless "landlines". The person on the other end was forceful to the point of being threatening. Does Telkom really think that threatening people is a good sales technique, especially with Telkom's already bad reputation that has cost it so much business over the years? And when I raised the issue of how many people are unhapy with their new wireless "service", Telkom's representative denied this. If Telkom wants to make threats, I have a threat for it: I am happy to give Telkom exactly R0 of my business as are many South Africans. A lot of use have carried out this threat to some degree in the past, hence Telkom's dismal financial performance, and many of us will simply take away the small amount of business that remains. If you do not car about the needs of your customers, it will reflect in your bottom line - again. Tell your CEO this.
