This seems the only way to get any action...

Telkom is driving me up the wall!!!

My landline and ADSL line went down on Boxing Day but because we weren't going to be there we only reported it on 09 Jan 2017... Since then all I get from Telkom is excuses and excuses and more excuses while call centre angents tell me all I can do is wait!!! I wonder what Telkom would do if I told them that when it comes time to pay the bill...

As it stands my initial reference number is 3901CRK090117 my escalation number is 951691.
After waiting for WEEKS I finally had a technician come to my home on a Sunday. He said he deals with the underground cables and that he could see it was not a problem with the underground cables but rather the overhead ones. After waiting another 2 weeks we finally get another technician out who says they can't tell where the problem is because they can't get access to some other property where their lines run through!! HOW IS THIS MY PROBLEM....

And during all this what is the best part - I must still pay my line rental for both lines and for the data I can't access ... While I am paying higher cellphone bills and mobile data bills BECAUSE I CAN'T ACCESS MY OTHER SERVICES!!!
Please note over and above this current fault I had already had a fault outstanding for my ADSL line with Telkom from Mid December 2016 - its just that this fault took over both issues!! But I am still paying for the service... All this nonsense about how the monies will be deducted once the service is operational again in just *******... How do I even know I am having the right amounts deducted anyway??? Coz the accounts department speaks a different language to the rest us mere mortals!

I wish someone else would please get another telephone company going coz I would switch in a heartbeat. The only reason they can run roughshod over us is because there is no competition in this country!!!
