Third week with no telephones at our business
We are a business running 3 hunting lines and one dedicated ADSL line with Telkom. On the 29th February our hunting lines appeared to be crossed, telephone calls were coming in on the ADSL line and our internet was intermittent. We immediately started correspondence with the 'BVS commercial' department of Telkom who were previously able to assist with porting/hunting (and at least answer their phones), but were not helpful this time. After pursing dead-ends we reluctantly had to resort to 10210/7 to start logging faults. 40 minute waits, then get cut-off etc, etc, etc. We have since logged multiple faults. Service technicians (4+) call/visit once, can't seem to fix, then never return. We get sms saying service 'was restored', but it certainly isn't. Our telephone lines now do not work at all. This IS THE THIRD WEEK OF NO SERVICE. We are a business, our clients are frustrated and we are sure to be losing business.

If Telkom weren't the monopoly with a stranglehold over South Africa, they would go out of business. Afterwards you get a call asking \how likely are you to recommend Telkom to others?\" What choice do we have, they are the only land line service provider"
