They Just Decide Not To Replace Lines and Its Up To The Consumer to Find a Solution

On sunday the 21st of January 2018 my voice line and adsl went dead. I immediately reported the fault early that morning and waited for any response. Telkom only issued an SMS to me stating that it was in hands with the technical team. Every day I called telkom for an update and they said it was a bulk fault in the area and that it was in the hands of the technicians with no other comments. Today I called to find out the report and I was told that telkom just decided not to replace the lines with no reason given and I was told if I wanted my telephone line and internet back I would have to switch to a wireless LTE or fibre and they attempted to direct me to the sales department

First off my area does not have fibre installed in the area so I was immediately barred from that option and secondly my internet is provided through afrihost through an uncapped adsl package.

I am a heavy user of the internet and my family is heavily reliant on it for professional work. By telkom not replacing the line and essentially barring me from using an adsl service provider i cannot use an uncapped line anymore and further it will cost me more to move to LTE and uncapped options aren't available that I'm aware of for the affordable costs I was paying.

When I called the customer careline and said surely they can't just decide the line won't be replaced and customers must find solutions they said if lines keep getting ****** then they can decide to do that. As a customer I am paying for a service but surely telling doesn't expect us to stand guard at night and protects the lines in bulk areas

I'm writing this review hoping for some sort of resolution where they replace the line because as far as I was told it's not just me that's affected but 327 other faults as of Monday so how is it that I must be limited in my options because telling decides that the line is not worth replacing on a whim
