The worse service, as always!

Good afternoon

Re: case no ********** 7 / tel **********

I visited the Telkom shop at Cape Gate on 20 January 2017 and was assisted by Jason. My request was to cancel my Telkom landline ( ********** ) as well as the contract for the Asus Phonepad ( ********** ). Jason processed the document/request and informed me that I would receive a telephone call from Telkom after 2-3 weeks and I would be asked to reconsider the cancellation of my landline.

This happened as stated above, and on 09 February 2017 I received a call from Hlamula Chauke who asked that I reconsider the cancellation. I requested that he proceed with it and he offered me the fixed line look-a-like option, a wireless landline with a cost of R 198.00 per annum. It is rechargeable with airtime and per minute costs are the same as the landline. I asked to keep the telephone number. He advised that the landline would be cancelled and that the look-a-like option/device would be delivered to me two weeks later.

On 06 April 2017 I called 10210 and later 10213. After speaking to about 4 people and holding on while a call centre agent "investigated" my case, he dropped the line and I had to start the process of enquiry and explaining the situation to a number of people again and again. I eventually spoke with a supervisor, Kesaville Naidoo, who was going to investigate the poor service and get back to me. He could see that Hlamula had worked on my account but he had apparently not placed the order for the look-a-lik device. He was going to investigate this too and get back to me. He took my cell number and asked that i send him an email to **********

Next, I visited the Telkom offices at Cape Gate shop on 11 April 2017 and the Telkom branch manager, Dien Abrahams asked that I send an email to him on ********** explaining my situation. I sent the email on 25 April 2017.

To date I have not had any response from Telkom, the landline remains active, I get billed for it every month and I am not sure when Telkom will be attending to my request. (The Asus contract was cancelled.)

Kesaville informed me that he wanted proof that the cancellation form was sent to Telkom. Common sense tells me that Telkom must have received it otherwise Hlamula would not have called me and the Asus tab contract would not have been cancelled.

Dien asked me to email the forms to him which i did but there is no progress.

It seems the only time that Telkom responds to customer queries is when they are put on social media. Other than that they simply ignore you.

I am not prepared to pay any rental for the telkom landline as it was suppose to be cancalled by latest end February 2017. I am more than prepared to pay for any calls that i have made - i am not as dishonest as Telkom as they billed me and refused to refund me even though my landline was not working for about months. Luckily i learnt my lesson and cancelled my debit order so this time you cannot take my money.

In short, I am still waiting for the landline to be cancelled and for the look-alike device to be delivered to me and I wonder how much longer i have to wait for some kind of service from Telkom.

Regards

Sonya Marais

**********
